Cookie policy

Everything this site stores in your browser, by name. Last updated 25 October 2026.

The short version

Browsing this catalogue sets no cookies. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party tags and no CAPTCHA, and the fonts come from our own server rather than a font CDN, so simply reading a page sends your IP address to nobody but us.

We are not running any analytics at the moment, so nothing is counting your visit.

Strictly necessary

These do not ask for consent, because they exist only to do something you asked for.

NameWhat it is forWhereHow long
shurveda_consentYour answer to the cookie banner, and the version of the wording you were shown when you gave it. Storing a refusal is what stops us asking again, so this one is set whichever way you answer.Whole site6 months
authjs.session-tokenKeeps a member of our staff logged in to the admin area. Set only when somebody signs in there, and never on a page you can reach as a visitor. Over HTTPS the name is prefixed __Secure-./admin only8 hours
authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-urlProtect the staff login form against cross-site submission and remember where to return after signing in. Same story: staff, admin area, not you./admin onlySession
shurveda.catalogue.openBranchesNot a cookie — a sessionStorage entry remembering which category branches you left open in the catalogue filter, so a page change does not reopen them. It never leaves your browser and is not sent to us.Catalogue pagesUntil you close the tab

Analytics

We are not running any analytics at the moment. No measurement script is loaded on this site, no analytics cookies are set, and nothing is counting your visit.

We still ask. The banner records your answer now, so that if we do switch analytics on, a refusal is already in force and an acceptance does not have to be collected from people who have already been counted. Until then, answering either way changes nothing you can observe — which is the honest position, and why we would rather say it than leave the question out and ask it later.

If we enable analytics it will be software we host on our own server, chosen because it sets no cookies and keeps no identifier in your browser, and we will update this page before switching it on. We will not add a third-party advertising or tracking tag.

Nothing non-essential is loaded unless you allow it. Before you answer, the script is not in the page — it is not fetched and then held back, it is simply not there. Decline, and it stays that way. Accept and then change your mind, and the page reloads without it; removing the tag on its own would not be enough, because code that has already run has already run.

You can change your answer whenever you like. The cookie-choice link in the footer of every page reopens this question.

Turning them off in your browser instead

Every browser can block or clear cookies and site storage. Doing so clears your answer to our banner as well, so you will be asked again. Blocking the strictly necessary ones means the banner reappears on every page and our staff cannot sign in, but the catalogue and the enquiry form will still work.
